The Venue Haydock: Our Story and Commitment to All
Our journey began in 1920 when Haydock's village cinema known as the Electraceum had beer pumps installed and was renamed Haydock Conservative Hall and then Club; situated on the main road through Haydock until 2007 when it was demolished and Tesco was built. Negotions with the then Connie Club committee led to a new club building being erected as a replica of the original club's layout for its members.

The Conservative Club like many members clubs saw a distinct decline in attendance following Covid-19.
On re-opening, the Club Management Committee began exploring alternative uses for the club to generate custom.
A majority of local opinion fostered negativity towards the name of the club, it's deemed political ties and also the fact Saturdays could not be booked for functions.
At the 2025 Annual General Meeting, it was agreed to combine the games room and small lounge area into a second function room. The work was completed in January 2026, and the Nightingale was established to compliment the Electraceum (the old big room).
To complement our function rooms a new club name was founded to enable us to preserve the heritage of the business whilst embracing modern practices.
To some, we will always be the connie club and that's ok. For our future members and visitors, The Venue is here to stay.
